Frequently Asked Questions
General Product Questions
Question: How can I set my safety scoreboard to start counting from a specific number?
Answer: When you receive your scoreboard you will want to start counting from your current safe days count and not zero. Simply use the up and down buttons on the back of the sign to adjust the number displayed. After the desired number is shown, the sign will count from that number. For more details about configuring your scoreboard please see our overview document.
Question: What is the expected lifetime of the digital displays in your products?
Answer: Our displays are made with LEDs with an average lifetime of over 100,000 hours.
Question: We do not use a North American standard electrical outlet in my country. Can I still use your sign?
Answer: Our displays require an input voltage of 9V 650mA with a 2.1 mm (P5) center positive connector. You can purchase a wall transformer with your plug style and our required output for use in any of our signs. Please send us an email and we will work with you to ensure that the correct adapter is supplied. An additional cost for the adapter may be necessary.
Question: How are your signs mounted to the wall?
Answer: Our standard mounting configuration provides reinforced brackets on the back of the sign for mounting purposes. A 1.25" clearance is ensured to allow for the thickness of the digital display. Other mounting options are available upon request.

Question: What resolution file should I send for Photo's or graphics.
Answer: CouSign prints all files at 720 DPI using Onyx RIP Software on our high resolution printer. Best results are obtained from vector files or raster images that are high-resolution (300 dpi or greater) and sized to the area they will occupy in the final printed sign or banner. Typically images taken from web sites are not of a high-resolution and will not reproduce well. Most images cannot be printed larger than their original size.

Minimum Resolution
----Raster files such as TIF, PSD, JPEG
set-up all files at 150 dpi at 100% of final file size or 300 dpi at 50% file size on all.

----Vector based files, resolution is irrelevant and files can be reduced or enlarged to almost any size without loosing quality.

----Email Us with your text and any images of your plant or department.
Don't have images to use - describe what you would like and let us find just the right image for you. Other sizes available.
Question: I'm not a graphic artist, are you able to create graphics for us?
Answer: Absolutely, we have a full time graphic designer on our staff.
1 basic design is included with your purchase.

Additional Graphic Design is available in 15 minute increments.
Question: How do I place an order for custom signs?
Answer: When viewing a product that can be customized you will notice a "Customize this Product" dialog on the product page. Simply select the options you wish to customize, provide the required information, and then add the item to your cart. After placing your order you will have an opportunity to review a proof showing you what the final sign will look like. After approving the proof your order will be sent to production.
Question: Any other File Preparation Hints?
Answer: ----• Convert all fonts to Outlines/Curves where possible, if not include all fonts used in file.

----• You can also Design your files at 25% (600 dpi) of final output size.
(Indicate final output enlargement size percentage when submitting file).
----• For the best results on printing Solid Blacks

----• Save all raster files with maximum quality setting checked and minimum file compression.
